The Start of Roofing Construction
In the early 1980's, Joe Achille, a high school gradutate an Airco Tech certified welder, started to labor for his father, Sam Achille, a well know Italian South Hills-Brookline Roofer. Joe had the natural construction talent and he took his construction strengths to jobs of his dads. Joe was taught how to roof a house, starting from scratch - from removing the shingles and plywood - ripping shingles off with a crow bar and hammer - apply plastic material or ice and water shield that will seal a roof. This had to be done with perfection working for his dad every crack must be covered well! "Sam said" ..... "By doing this it will help extend the life of your plywood"
As Sam became older in years, his health started to fail and Joe started to managed the business and extend the business into construction new homes and additions. Joe endeavored to attend college and study Construction Estimating. As a student in the Construction Management & Estimating Program, Joe learned a full range of Cost Estimating methods like final bid estimates for domestic and heavy projects, project planning and control, facility management, and an understanding of the legal factors affecting the construction industry. The estimating skills he became competent in, his construction expertise and architect skills made the business grow, not only in residential construction, but with commercial business owners.
The Start of Commercial Construction
In 2003, Joe's technical and managerial skills in the commercial and residential construction industry led him to an opportunity with a corporate business owner who contacted Joe. Joe estimated and provide written bids on remodels of Vocelli Pizza shops in the Pittsburgh Area. Contracts were signed by franchisees of Vocelli Pizza shops and the commercial construction started following corporate prints and decorative requirements. Joe traveled from Pittsburgh, PA and as far to Myrtle Beach South Carolina to construct Vocelli Pizza shops. Joe successfully completed over 12 projects for Vocelli franchisees and each of the franchisee owners became successful selling pizza!
